A person wearing a smartwatch

For many students, staying focused, getting started on assignments, remembering instructions, and completing tasks can be just as challenging as learning the material itself. These difficulties are often associated with executive functioning challenges, ADHD, and other disabilities that can affect attention and self regulation. Fortunately, there are tools available to students who struggle with staying on task. And the best part of the tool that we are looking at today is that it completely aligns with the districts current approach to technology and screentime reduction.

Revibe, developed by Pearson, is a wearable device designed to help individuals improve focus, attention, and self regulation through personalized reminders and feedback. And, the device is actually built around a Samsung Galaxy Watch7, making this tool completely blend in with other students smartwatches.

The device uses sensors and AI powered technology to identify patterns in a user’s behaviour and provide discreet vibration reminders when attention begins to drift. These gentle prompts encourage students to check in with themselves and return their attention to the task at hand without requiring a teacher to constantly remind them. These reminders are designed to provide an additional layer of support throughout the school day, helping students recognize when they need to refocus and develop strategies for managing their own attention.

Revibe actually consists of two components: a Samsung Galaxy Watch dedicated exclusively to Revibe, with no access to additional apps or smartwatch functions, and a web-based application that automatically syncs with the watch when connected to Wi-Fi.

The web-based application allows users to integrate schedules, set up reminders, and configure reports for each individual. Tracking data includes self-reported information, such as responses to “Am I on Task?”, as well as biometric and activity data, including steps and fidgeting.

Because the device is worn on the wrist, prompts can be delivered without drawing unnecessary attention from classmates. This can help reduce interruptions while supporting a more inclusive learning environment.

The Revibe is available for pre-order right now and is supposed to be available to Canadian customers by winter. To learn more about the Revibe, click here(new window).
